Hey there guys,

I am after a little bit of advice, hopefuly you won't think am too much of a noob for asking these questions. :geek:

My car is a Ford Focus with a standard Ford stereo model 6000 CD, my sub is a Blaupunkt THb 250 and my amp is a new generation RA804X (4 x 80 watts).

The stereo has no RCA leads so I was wondering if it is ok to wire the amp from the rear speaker outputs while still keeping the rear speakers connected to the stereo? Would this damage any of my equipment in anyway?

As you can probably guess I am looking at using the amp to only power the sub. I have no instructions for this amp and canot find anything on the internet about it. Is it possible to bridge any amp or do you have to buy a specific amp that is bridgeable? Is it possible to bridge or 4 channels or can you only bridge 2 channels?

If it has no RCA inputs then ur screwed. I wouldnt try it, because it might fry your speakers or you amp.(hiighly doubtful to fry amp though if you got stock speakers.)

Run both sets of speaker wires to the amp input making sure you keep the + and _ together then use one channel of the amp to drive the sub and the other channel to drive the existing speakers make sure you turn the gain down on the speaker channel

You should then be able to use the front to rear fade to get just the right amount of base from the sub.

This will get you sorted until you upgrade your head unit though you may find you dont have to
