What does your insurance cost? Why? You crashed, made a claim? Are you 18 and being totally screwed?!

I like the "why?" part of your question! I reckon it's something along the lines of "because insuarance companies are B*******". My 2p!

Ive had quotes for in around the $450-$550 range..
Being around the 17-18 year old age group and having 0% NCB doesnt help either...

Yeah, I dont have no claims, it sucks. I'm on my mums insurance at the mo cos its cheaper. It's still like £850! Someone told me insurance works differently in Australia. and that speed cameras were really strict.

The first quote I got was £3000! Taking the proverbial piss. There was a post somewhere else on here about a cheap insurer, a guys name. specifically for modified cars and other stuff. I'll go find it.

allow me to let you into a little cheat on the insurance front - contact a traders insurance company and ask for a traders policy - inform them that you only sell about 3 or 4 cars a year and you wish to be covered for trade vehicles up to the maximum value (of what your car is worth) I insured a Renault 5 GT Turbo at the age of 19 full comp for £1100 when I was being quoted for private insurance at £2600 - yeah right!!!
Buy and sell some old snotters to prove the trade cover. You never know you might make enough money on a couple of snotters to actually cover your policy anyway - the best bit above all, is you are insured to drive any of your mates cars too ;-)
