Hi everyone, I have a '96 toyota tacoma with some problems. When I drive to far or gas it real hard, my car starts to screw up. If I let off the gas, the car starts to stop (like if you drive w/ the e-brake on), and if I am flooring it, it hardly goes past 30 mph, the rpm goes WAY to high, and the engine starts to heat up. So I look at the brake pads and there are fine, nothing wrong with the brakes (from what I can see but I'm not good with cars), but when I started to put the brakes back on the calipers kept closing so it wouldn't get into place. Eventually I found out I had the e-brake was on but even with it off it was a BIG pain to get the brakes on and the calipers open. I get new brake pads, clean the brakes, and the problem still persists. And just today I pull into my house from school, which is a minute away, and I see my tire smoking. I look closer and I see the smoke coming from inside the tire, around the brakes. Does anyone have any possible idea on how to fix this?
