Picked up this 1997 subaru impreza for £400 slight damage to passenger side needed new bumper wing mirror and window as well as some scratches removed.

Ive been quite busy with it over the past few weeks and I can finally see it coming together although ive had the picture in my head form the start .

This is how it looks today will be getting everything sprayed within the next 2 weeks.

There will be a 360 installed but im waiting on a new case arriving so I can style it to suit the car.[/img]

Whats that coming over the hill is it a monster ..... it will be ......

Quite a busy weekend well a busy sunday fitted some sweet jvc 6 x 9s and got started on my dvd install 5" screen built into dash tilted towards passenger as we all know its not allowed to watch movies when your driving.
My final addition was to fit a fuel boost valve to try and remove any throttle dead spots oh and ive the supercharger prototype built just waiting on my chrome air intake tubing to arrive to see if its all going to work
Image
Engine bay with boost valve mounted on bulkhead

Dash with 5" screen in place dvd player is located under passenger seat at present

Bonnet scoops have been sent of for spraying hope to have them back later this week then if the paint is a good match car is getting done next weekend
Finally got the bumpers and spoiler sprayed and now I can see the light at the end of the tunnel everything is slowly but surely falling into place.

My next mod is to do a rear brake conversion get rid of the drums and fit these.

watch this space [/img]
Finally I got the supercharger sorted and it realy does seem to make a difference in the low gears
Image

The supercharger consists of a 3" 12v blower wired through a micro switch positioned so that it only operates on full throttle
Image
The cone filter is fixed to the blowers intake and then on through the induction kit to the throttle
Image
Sits pretty sweet in the engine bay
Image

Im still waiting for my brake conversion kit and I have also just bought a 1998 wrx interior hopefully it will arrive this weekend if not it will be monday
Oh and I got me a new carbon fibre bonnet scoop rrp £245 a bargain on ebay for £63
Image
I am hoping to fit it this weekend here it is just sitting on the bonnet boy does it look mean

and from a distance

Sorry about the big pics just got a new camera will resize them later

looks nice... im thinking about doing something similar but maybe without a 360 lol

what you think is a good small project car that possibly costs around 3000-4000$ maybe a bit higher depending on the already installed components and etc...

then ending with a total of 10,000$ into it or so?

im needing some help here^_^

For a 1st car I'd say your best thinking 1st what you want ie speed, looks, comfort and affordability.

Im in the uk and for a 1st car if I was looking now I would have to be thinking about a hot hatch golf gti or maybe a smaller say saxo something with a hatch back so that any Ice install can be shown off to the max.

You have to remember here in the uk we pay far too much for fuel and insurance our fuel is about 2 dollars a litre.

Time is also a big factor as in how much time can you devote to your modding no point buying a scrapper if your not going to have the time to ensure its roadworthy.

buy the best you can afford and then slowly improve on it making sure you get each project perfect before you move on.
At the end of the day you have to be seen driving it .

Think I am going to devote next weekend to the boot install want to get a good install built.
I have 2 x 10" subs and 2 x 8" subs as well as a sheet of tread plate so I am hoping to build a false floor to accomadate the subs, amps and hopefully the xbox.

I have also recently purchased an undercar led lighting system a new steering wheel with 2 trigger buttons and I am working on a basic nos install I have found a local supplier that can provide me with all the components and at a fraction of the price a kit would cost. I have already adapted an old co2 fire extinguisher to hold the nos so this looks like its going to work
watch this space ..........

nice man, what do the buttons on your steering wheel do? Horn or something interesting? Have you seen those switches you can get which are just metal plates - you just touch them and they switch. I want some of them :D

The switches don't do anything just yet but my plan is to use them for the nitrous planning on having a switch in the dash to bring the nos system online and then you have to press both buttons to open the solenoid and discharge the nos been looking at alot of the kits for sale and I am at present sourcing the components but for alot less money
