fitted alpine head unit and a sub every thing prfic for 2 weeks then last night turned vol up to 25 the sound was very distorted but if i turn it down to 21 every thing is ok also it only does it with the engine running if i switch of engine volume will go up to 35 thanks

Sounds like the wiring could be dodgy somewhere, are the power and audio wires etc. good quality? there could be interference from the cars electrics. Is the amp properly grounded?
